Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was honoured with the 50th Matri Shree Award on Wednesday for her remarkable contributions to society.
The convener of the Matri Shree Award Committee, Chetan Sharma, stated that CM Rekha Gupta has made significant contributions to public service and social welfare, and in recognition of her efforts, she has been honoured with the award.

Sharma presented a portrait of ‘Bharat Mata’ to the Chief Minister. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh member Vivek Sharma, Mahamayi Seva Nyas representative Deepak Bajaj, and other award committee members were also present on the occasion.
The Matri Shree Award was instituted in 1975 by late journalist Dinesh Sharma with the objective of honouring individuals for their outstanding contributions to society as well as in the field of journalism.
Notable personalities such as Lal Krishna Advani, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Madan Lal Khurana, Sahib Singh Verma, Rajat Sharma, Khushwant Singh, and Sarla Maheshwari have been honoured with the Matri Shree Award in the past.
The award remains a symbol of strengthening social service, national spirit, and journalistic values.
